How the Smartphone is Gradually Ruining your Relationship

One device that is a most have in our time is the mobile phone. Gone are the days when people flaunt the flip phones or phones with analog antennas. In recent times, people’s preferences have shifted to the Samsung and Iphones due to the
class associated with them.

Two of the trendiest of these devices right now is the Galaxy S21Pro and Apple Iphone 12 Pro Max. Both Tech-savvy individuals and those with zero knowledge of how technology works, are drawn to their extraordinary features as well as wowed by their amazing specs such as; the Iphone’s Stainless steel frame, 120H2 pro motion displays and Higher-end photography options and the Samsung’s first internally Snap dragon 888 processor, compass, Dual pixel PDAF.

These fearures enable them to keep in touch with friends and followers on social media. But a downside is behind the sophistication of these devices are a gazillion problems it poses unknowingly to relationships.

Diminish Physical Interaction

Whether in a meeting, at the mall, driving or having important conversation with our partners there is that temptation to scroll through social media to keep up with what is happening online. These acts can make our partners feel ignored especially if serious relationship matter is being discussed.

Some people even take issues that should have been communicated with their partners first to the social media; these acts can diminish communication which is vital in every relationship and may lead to conflict if not handled properly.

Lack of Privacy

Because everything has to be documented these days, most people fall into the temptation to make use of the higher-end photography options on phones, therefore giving strangers an opportunity into their daily lives by; posting receipts of vacations, exotic dinners, fights with spouse and some even accidently leak sex tape that these strangers on social media have no business in knowing.

And if their partner is a private person it becomes a problem. Since all these can be done with just a click.

Lead to Depression

With the numerous editing features on these phones, everything has to look perfect for the gram. From the PDAs, to special date nights, concerts and a quiet evening at home, people actually buy the make beliefs others put on the gram, making them expect   same or twice as much from a partner who obviously is not a fan of showing it on social media.

This could lead to some people pressurizing their partner and holding them accountable for doing less, leaving both parties drained and depressed.

Less Attention

The need to keep up with the Joneses on Social media makes people transfer all attention to the phone and what is on it, ignoring the needs of their partners and making them less sensitive to what is being said or their partner’s body language.
